About these terms

These terms apply when you use The Set Edit website, including when you send an event request through Build Your Brief. By using the website, you accept these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the website.

What The Set Edit does

The Set Edit:

• helps you explore event hire and styling ideas and categories;
• accepts event briefs through Build Your Brief; and
• helps connect your request with event hire and styling professionals who may suit it.

The Set Edit is not the provider of the hire or styling services that professionals quote for. It does not own the hire items shown on the website, and it does not set professionals’ prices or availability.

Sending a brief

Please give accurate information in your brief, and use an email address you can access, because a verification code is sent to it. Your request is confirmed when the code is entered.

Immediately before you send a brief, the form shows this customer agreement:

By submitting your event request, you agree that:

• Your request will be shared with suitable event professionals.
• Matching professionals may contact you about your event.
• Your details will only be used to help organise quotes and services for this request.

The form also explains that The Set Edit partners with My Event Match to process requests. The Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled.

Quotes, availability and bookings

Professionals decide whether to respond, what they quote and whether they are available. Sending a brief does not guarantee a response, a quote or availability on your date, and there is no obligation to book.

If you book, your agreement is with the professional you choose, on their terms. Read their terms before accepting a quote, including deposits, cancellations, delivery, setup, pack-down and damage.

What you submit

You are responsible for the information and images you include in a brief. Only upload photos you have the right to share. Images you attach are shared with professionals as part of your request.

Images and content on this website

Editorial and inspiration images on this website, including the images in The Edit, are illustrations created with an AI image tool to show styles, settings and ideas. They are not photographs of real events, completed projects or a professional’s portfolio, and the items shown are not stock offered by The Set Edit.

You are welcome to use the website to plan your own event. Please don’t copy or republish its text, design or images for commercial purposes without permission.

Acceptable use

When using the website, please don’t:

• send false or misleading requests, or requests using someone else’s details without their permission;
• upload content that is unlawful, offensive or that you don’t have the right to share;
• interfere with the website, its security or other people’s use of it; or
• use the website to send unsolicited advertising.

General information only

Guides, ideas and planning notes on the website are general information. Confirm details such as sizes, quantities, power, venue rules and safety requirements with your professionals and your venue.

The website may change from time to time and may occasionally be unavailable.

Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Services you book are provided by the professionals you engage, under your agreement with them.

Links to other websites are provided for convenience. Those websites are responsible for their own content and terms.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the website or the way requests are handled changes. The version published on this page is the one that applies.
