This policy applies to people who visit The Set Edit website or send an event request through Build Your Brief. It covers information collected through the website.

Event hire and styling professionals who contact you about your request handle your information under their own privacy practices.

Information you give in a brief

Build Your Brief asks for the details professionals need to understand and quote on your event:

• Your event: the event title, the services you select, your description of the event, event size, timing and date.
• Where it is: your state, suburb and postcode, and a venue or event address if you add one.
• Your budget: the budget range you choose.
• Your contact details: first and last name, email address, a phone number if you add one, your preferred contact method and the best time to reach you.
• Anything else you write in the additional information field.

Required fields are marked in the form. Other fields can be left blank. Please don’t include sensitive information, such as health details, that your event request does not need.

Photos and saved images

At step 6 you can upload your own photos. They are sent with your brief so professionals can see the style you have in mind. Only upload images you are comfortable sharing, and avoid photos that show other people’s personal information.

Images you save with the Save button while browsing are listed in your browser’s local storage on your device. The list is only included in a brief if you choose images at step 6. You can remove saved images in the brief, or by clearing this website’s data in your browser.

Email verification

After you send a brief, a six-digit code is sent to the email address you entered. Entering the code confirms that the address is yours and confirms your request.

How your information is used

Your information is used:

• to process your request and confirm your email address;
• to connect your request with event hire and styling professionals who may suit it;
• so those professionals can contact you about your event and prepare quotes; and
• to operate and maintain the website.

Your details are used to help organise quotes and services for your request.

Sharing your request

The Set Edit partners with My Event Match to process event requests. When you send a brief, your event details are passed through My Event Match so that suitable event hire and styling professionals can review your request and respond.

Professionals who receive your request may contact you using the details and the preferred contact method you provided.

The website may also rely on service providers, such as hosting, email and form services, which handle information only as needed to provide those services.

Browser storage and website data

The website keeps the list of images you save in your browser’s local storage, only so it can show your saved images and let you add them to a brief.

Depending on how the website is hosted, technical information such as your browser type, device and the pages you visit may be recorded in server logs. If analytics or advertising tools are added to the website, this policy will be updated to describe them and any cookies they use.

Looking after your information

Only include the information your event request needs. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so avoid adding sensitive details to free-text fields or uploads.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask for access to the personal information held about you and ask for it to be corrected. You can also raise a concern about how your information has been handled.

If a professional has contacted you about your request, you can also ask them directly what information they hold about you.
